Definition:

Psychomotor agitation is a kind of restlessness or muscular activity associated with mental tension. Psychomotor agitation is often associated with depression and anxiety. Emotional tension resulting from symptoms of depression, anxiety or other psychological disorders can result in involuntary movements, such as pacing, tapping of feet or hands or other similar types of motor activity.
