Is Medication a Must?

For many, medications used to treat panic disorder symptoms have provided great relief. For others, medications are not an option due to side effects or lack of expected effectiveness. Some studies show that cognitive behavioral therapy alone can be as beneficial as SSRI therapy in symptom control. The APA recommends medication in conjunction with therapy.
