Definition:

Psychotherapy is a generic term used to reference the psychological treatment of mental disorders. It is not a specific method of treatment, but encompasses a variety of techniques. Through communication and interaction with an experienced professional, clients overcome psychological difficulties, develop better coping skills and change behaviors. Psychotherapy can be provided in group, individual and family settings.
