Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) has grown in popularity as an effective treatment option for panic disorder. AAT involves the use of a trained animal, such as a dog, cat, or horse, to help a client in overcoming physical, cognitive, and/or emotional limitations. AAT can help a person with panic disorder become more comfortable and engaged in the therapy process.
